Sharps Bins

We regret that we are unable to accept sharps bins from patients.  Sharps bins at patients' homes must be collected by the council.  Please visit Bath & North East Somerset Council for more information.

Accessing someone else’s information (Proxy access)

As a parent, family member or carer, you may be able to access services for someone else. We call this having proxy access. We can set this up for you if you are both registered with us.

Vaccinations

Mounjaro (Tirzepatide)

The NHS are currently only offering Mounjaro for a very specific cohort of patients.  This is being phased over three years.

Year 1 2025/2026 (12 months)

  • BMI over 40; AND
  • At least 4 of the existing conditions;
    • Hypertension (high blood pressure)
    • Dyslipidaemia (abnormal levels of lipids in the bloodstream)
    • Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (sleep related breathing issues)
    • Established Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease (Ischaemic Heart Disease, Cerebrovascular Disease, Peripheral Vascular Disease, Heart Failure)
    • Type 2 Diabetes

Year 2 2026/2027 (9 months)

  • BMI between 35 and 39.9; AND
  • At least 4 of the existing conditions;
    • Hypertension (high blood pressure)
    • Dyslipidaemia (abnormal levels of lipids in the bloodstream)
    • Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (sleep related breathing issues)
    • Established Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease (Ischaemic Heart Disease, Cerebrovascular Disease, Peripheral Vascular Disease, Heart Failure)
    • Type 2 Diabetes

Years 2-3 2026/2027/2028 (15 months)

  • BMI over 40; AND
  • At least 3 of the existing conditions;
    • Hypertension (high blood pressure)
    • Dyslipidaemia (abnormal levels of lipids in the bloodstream)
    • Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (sleep related breathing issues)
    • Established Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease (Ischaemic Heart Disease, Cerebrovascular Disease, Peripheral Vascular Disease, Heart Failure)
    • Type 2 Diabetes

There is a lower BMI threshold (usually reduced by 2.5 kg.m2) for people from South Asian, Chinese, other Asian, Middle Eastern, Black African or African-Caribbean ethnic backgrounds.

For patients who do not meet the above criteria, they cannot obtain this drug on the NHS, and will need to source a provider privately if they wish to pursue this drug.  We are not able to recommend private providers but politely recommend that patients be vigilant in their research to ensure they are safe and align to british standards of healthcare.
